It’s already April. Oh dear… EDB interview was disastrous, omg.
This weekend has been especially good, and Good Friday has always been good, because it is the only public holiday that guarantees a 3 day weekend for me lol. Friday was good. Spent the entire morning and afternoon with the guys in AH, the trees there seem to be undergoing some sort of deforestation, all botak like the nsfs. Spent the evening with the gang at timbre, woohoo. Toast to all of our successes! Send me the pictures people!!
Saturday was really good. Finally managed to get some afternoon nap after such a long time, sometimes I think we need some personal time for ourselves to R&R, by simply sleeping. Lol. Met up with the guys again to have dinner and came over to watch soccer, guess I will miss such soccer gatherings soooooooooooooooon. 26apr is coming. Oh shit.
Tomorrow’s only sunday and I foresee myself sleeping. Gosh, I love 3-day weekends. FTW. Oh, I think I need to start exercising soon, real soon.
Tik tok.

Stint at IMH is coming to end soon, oh man. Somehow, that’s quite a nice place to be, especially on those days where your main jobscope is to be a flower vase.
Had a wonderful weekend working with the girls and ll at sotheby’s man. Think it’s the best job ever, good pay, good company, a security guard who came to talk nonsense on sunday to the both of us, expensive paintings, etc. Best of all, the only main thing that we did over the 2 days was this: “Hi, good afternoon sir/mam.” and “Thank you sir/mam.” WOOHOO. Rich people, one day I’m going to be rich too. One day.
On a side note, it’s exactly one month’s time till enlistment. Oh dear.
And sometimes, I wonder. Do you ever know? I don’t think so. Probably you’re not worth it. Run devil run. Away.
I need my bed.

It’s been so long since I last blogged! And I’m blogging today only because that I wasn’t working today, and also tomorrow! Had a high fever yesterday, oh man, it was so long since I felt so sick. Taking medicine sucks, especially when the pills don’t go down your throat successfully and it starts to melt in your mouth, the taste of it is ~wtf~. lol.
Life’s actually much less exciting since the boys got enlisted into the army. Save for sunday soccer, hadn’t seen many friends recently. Now I understand mx’s hypothesis of the becoming smaller thing. Sometimes, it can get rather disappointing… But then, there’s no point in doing so lol, at least that is what I’m trying to tell myself.
Work at IMH has been interesting, I guess; though i would rather work in a financial institution instead, lol. Some of my colleagues are amazed of the irony that I’m working at IMH but having no interest in taking medicine, lol. Actually, it makes no much sense that I’m working there, really… lol.
It’s this friday. All the studying in the library daily for so many months, you can say that I would be classified as a mugger, but I’m fine with that title since in the world outside, results do matter. And so sometimes i do regret not studying hard enough back then in ahs… Ahh, if things don’t turn out well this friday, i will be devastated.
Reflection
January 23, 2010
Started work at IMH this week, really good experience! Well, got to learn alot of new stuff, new software and gained new lessons in life. It’s really saddening to see some patients there. Just this old mother of perhaps 70+ years old, white hair and walks with a hunch, has to hold her daughter’s hand (who’s the patient and not the old mother) when they visited the hospital. They came at 12 plus, but since they do not have any pre arranged appointments with the hospital, they had to register themselves as walk-in cases, and so they waited for almost 4 hours before they could see the doctor. I walked past the waiting area, and saw only the mother waiting silently in front of the door, while her daughter was not seen. It just pains you to see such cases.
Another case: one old woman sat outside the medical social worker room, with my estimate, a period of at least 2 hours, so that she could see the MSW to obtain some financial aid to offset either her medical costs or that of her family member. She was just there sitting, stoning and waiting patiently for her turn, without any choice but to see the MSW; if not she has to forsake the visits to the hospital.
I guess such scenarios are so striking to me because I have a grandfather and grandmother to relate to. I thought of the scene where they would be the ones sitting alone in the clinic instead of those patients that I saw over the past few weeks. I thought of the inevitable days when my parents they themselves grow old and require people to bring them along to the clinic, to the doctor, to anywhere. Would I be there for them? Would my siblings be there for them? Or would we be just be too busy with our own lives and ignore them or would we be like the one of the many happy and touching cases which I witnessed daughters and sons bringing their elderly parents to the clinic for a visit.
Some patients are just too financially incapable of paying the medical fees, that’s why the MSW room is always the most crowded. It’s a stark reminder of how fortunate and worry-free my life is now, I don’t fret over not having enough to eat, I don’t fret not having money to pay for medical fees. For if I so choose to dwell on all the misses that I lack of in my life, it is just a pathetic side of me which choose to drown myself in a pool of self-pity.
Mum and Dad have told me to resign, said I haven’t been normal for the past week since I started work. Hmm, I guess it’s just the acclimatization to my workplace. Like the interviewers said, I must be mentally prepared to work in IMH, I thought I was and indeed I do, when it comes to facing patients having relapses and stuff; but to witness really heart wrenching cases, I guess I am not and will never be so.
The 9pm Channel 8 show ended recently, though it’s rather clichéd and predictable, it’s still appealing to me. I really like the olden days where everything seemed much simpler and less complicated than the modern days…
Putting work aside, had a really great s37 gathering at Jed’s place yesterday! Woohoo, had a good time talking and witnessing the girls and guys failing at Rock Band and stuff. Hahahaha. Cabbed home with cz and ly before everyone else left, lol. Those two need to work on a Saturday, lol. Was talking to the taxi uncle about roads and cars while the two behind were in cahoots about something else LOL. Ahh, it’s almost February soon and plenty of my friends are enlisting soon, which means an end to those frequent gatherings and stuff! Oh man…. Soccer tomorrow and FTT on monday!
Outings.
January 12, 2010
The past week was a rather happening week, with me bombing money almost everyday except Tuesday! Woohoo…
Monday was fun, had a class gathering at Jasmine’s. Everything was fine and fun till I somehow became the target and got thrown into the pool. Eyewitnesses said that ST and I were hugging each other before the both of us got pooled, ironically, by each other. Well it was a rather expensive lesson learnt, literally expensive. Don’t want to elaborate about it, though the doctor insisted on me getting some tetanus toxoid vaccine in case of any bacterial infection. Zzz.
Spent Wednesday going for an interview and dropping by at LY’s for mahjong. OMG, luckily we played chips, if not I would have been owned totally by the 一台 wins.
Thursday was primary school gathering! Glad that all of us could still connect with each other, after not seeing each other for 6 years plus for some of us. Had bbq at Lee’s house, Ah Hock came later, tried to sabotage him many times, but failed everytime. Maybe that’s why he’s a teacher, able to expose those who are lying to him (the guys) and believing those who do not lie (the girls). Went to Macs to continue talking past midnight before cabbing home with DC.
Friday was 4j gathering/dinner. Had sakae buffet at some Rivervale Mall in Sengkang. Well, 4j gathering isn’t really the entire class, but about 1/4 of the class, since 1/4 of the class is MIC, 1/2 of the class we can’t really communicate with, so that’s left with 1/4 of us lol. Oh well, still had a fun time with the guys especially, polishing off 61 plates of sushi, ftw.
Had a 2d gathering on Saturday at timbre. Well, everyone was late, so GX was pretty pissy lol. Had dinner at Suntec before rushing off again to meet Mike. Talked, erm drank, talked, took photos, and time went pass pretty quickly, to be honest! Then, it was another session of rushing and walking to catch the last train home. ZS said she could lead us to City Hall station from timbre and so we trekked for quite a distance before we gave up and took a bus to Bugis, catching the second last train home, lol.
Went out to celebrate JD’s birthday on Sunday at MOF@Bugis. Haha, everyone was late, as usual. Had a Japanese lunch, some stone rice thing. It really tasted like stone, because the rice grains were charred and it became hard and black, zomg. Ordered some deserts and talked for a while before I left!
Had a small gathering with the AHVJ gang ytd! Went to play badminton first before going to GX’s house, before going to CZ’s house to play Wii, then meeting MX and CY at T1 to meal at Manpuku. Ohhh, Japanese food for 2 consecutive days, lol.
Hmm, gonna start work next week, hopefully it will be fun and exciting! Haha. I must start doing my drafts asap. Lol.
2010
January 1, 2010
Woohoo! Happy new year, pull you ear! (: It’s a new decade already, though it sounds really clichéd, but time really flies, especially 2009! How I wish that somehow, 2009 can be extended for a longer time, ahhhh. NYE was a rather exciting day for me, considering the monotonous life that I have been leading since ‘A’ levels ended, drats.
Met up with ST, CW and MX at Tiong Bahru to get our dark black spectacles done at CW Mum’s shop! Omg, found out that my eyesight worsened over the past 2 years. So here’s a small little piece of advice for those who didn’t change his or her glasses for more than 2 years (just like me): get it changed before you worsen your vision like I did. Crap. Went to Coffee Bean to chat over coffee, and found out what has been happening outside in the real world during the period of time when I am cooped up at home. Some stuff are just shocking :O Went home later to get a short nap, felt sleepy perhaps due to the sleep debt I incurred a few nights ago when I spent the whole night talking to ST on MSN, rubbishing about and playing lovecalculator.com like primary school kids, trying out combinations that involve two people of the same gender, lol. Feels so nostalgic, recalling the time when primary school kids like me went to the school computer lab to play lovecalculator.com instead of doing official work, right under the noses of our teachers lol.
Anyway, met up with the NCC guys at night for some steamboat dinner/supper, okay, or rather, 11pm at Bugis lol. Well them being the people I have known for 6 years, we just ate past midnight without bothering to count down or what. Sort of a mini WAGs outing actually, haha. Oh yeah, found out a few sad truths about some people and what they did. Ah well, I guess it doesn’t matter how much someone tries to cover up, he or she will eventually be exposed de bah. Big blow to the person’s credibility though, how saddening. Oh well, shan’t dwell on it since it’s the New Year! Ate, cursed at each other (most fun part), and then went to CP’s house to take turn to be 赌神. Oh, the trip to CP’s house was especially disturbing for me. Bus services were unavailable, so we had to take Bus 11 to CP’s house. During the walk (though if feels like trekking), was behind a very interesting couple showing affectionate love for each other. LOL. Never mind, played till 7+ before going home to zonk out :O
Ed called just now in the afternoon, went out to get his army stuff. Oh man, he’s booking in next Monday, so is CP! Ahh, we are old already. And we have to pay adult fare now when taking buses or MRT, damn it. Noooooooooooooo, my bicycle is going to be useful from now onwards. (: Oh damn it, had a super screwed up haircut, I look like some wannabe-but-ultimately-failed-gangster now, shit shit shit.
Nevertheless, cheers to 2010!(: And I am very determined to finish my NYAA drafts (after procrastinating for 6 months) before most of them enlists in Feb, lol. Happy new year!
Festive seasons
December 23, 2009
Woohoo! Had house gathering at Yi Xiang’s on Monday! A nice gathering started by me pouncing on Kai Chun in Sheng Siong from his behind, lol. Went to Yi Xiang’s and watched 28 Weeks Later, which is something like L4D in movie, but with less blood, I guess? Don’t really play L4D, so I shan’t act as if I’m some pro gamer or what! More people started streaming in, ate and talked for hours, before YX’s dog came wandering around the table, lol.
Went to Sentosa yesterday with AH gang! Well, it was half sunny half rainy and very windy, lol. Shawn kicked up the volleyball into this big old tree and the ball got caught in the branches, and so we were left with Aloysius’s frisbee which cut many people’s fingers, including mine, lol. Threw coconut husks and wooden planks up the tree, but the ball didn’t come down. People nearby must be wandering what these idiots were doing lol. So after an hour or so, a sudden gust of wind somehow swayed the branches and the ball came flying down =.= Went to Raffles City for dinner at this Manpuku lookalike Japanese restaurant before going home!
Oh man, everyone seems busy either at work or holidaying overseas, okay, I need to do something productive soon! Wheeeeee, happy holidays to anyone who sees this!
RDI: Exceeded
December 18, 2009
Ohh, spent yesterday with Samuel and Cheng Wei shopping in town! Well, effective demand is defined as both the ability and willingness to consume a good or service. I guess we didn’t really have the willingness, if not we would have really spent a bomb! Haha. But it’s good and nice to hang out with them, hearing about avatar girl and chengwei’s nonchalance towards the act of gambling, hahahaha.
Went for buffet lunch with family today, guess I exceeded my RDI in one single meal and if I continue to stay dormant at home, as I had always been these few days, I will grow fat like a pig soon! Oh man. Went to the library afterwards, tried to find some nice books to borrow but failed too. Saw Jasper and Jeremy there playing with the computer, haha. Oh man, the reference section and the seats along the wall is so underused at this moment man, it was impossible for anyone to find even one empty table at 3pm back then, let alone the 3 empty tables I found today! Haha, the library’s a good place yo.
OH, I have finally started on my NYAA drafts after much procrastination, haha. Finally!
